MCT Fall 2023 Season is a wrap!

Hello Methow Cycling Team!

The the Hilly Squilly Race (Squilchuck) finished we quickly find ourselves at the end of the Fall 2023 mountain bike season.   Congrats to all of our riders who poured out the energy on a tough race course this weekend!   I am always so impressed by how much heart everyone gives to be prepared and ride their best on race day.

Thank you so much to all of our coaches for making the practices races happen seamlessly.   I want to call out extra gratitude to Tim Smith and Noah Perrin for taking on leadership roles with our “packs” of riders and being their to ride with and support our cyclists through all of our practices.

A big thank you to all of the parents for fostering cycling in your kids lives by getting kids and bikes to practices and races, providing support at races and for working together as a community to get kids to trailheads and home again.   This team community can’t happen without a ton of parent support and I am so grateful to all of you  for contributing so much of your time and energy.

Support!!!  We arecurrently a part of the Give Methow fundraising  for the first time and would love for everyone on the team to get the word out to friends and family.   We would love to be able to support riders financially and have a few bikes to lend out to young riders just trying the sport out.   Providing that kind of support is going to take some funding, so please send out the link and ask friends and family and fellow cyclists to support our youth cycling team.

Potluck!!!   We would love to have a season ending potluck to gather as a community and celebrate the season.  This week is looking a bit crazy with Homecoming festivities, so we will look a bit farther out and see if we can land a day that will work for everyone.   More to come…

Spring Season/ Winter Training:

We have the opportunity to do spin classes and weight lifting for cyclists this winter in the school weight room.   I highly encourage athletes with serious cycling ambitions to participate.   We can meet Tuesday, Wed, Thurs in the morning or after school and we will get that dialed in before too long.

Spring season promises to be a great one.   I’ll send info out as it comes in to me.

Cheers, Jeremy
